Pony Baldwin loves stories, especially stories in music. They speak to the essence of life, those moments when we cry, wonder or worship. In some ways, Pony’s life has paralleled those ideas.

    In her late teens, she lived her life’s dream to be a professional race horse jockey…enjoying being with the horses 7 days a week and thrilling to the speed and challenge of racing! Yet, it was during this time of life that she began to realize that living a dream, without living for Christ, can leave a person empty & disappointed.

She returned to the Lord after a time of  hurt and brokenness…it was a time to cry…both tears of pain, and tears of repentance.

Wonder followed soon after. There was the earthly wonder of what would “come next”, but, more importantly, the healing awe & wonder of experiencing God’s truth and grace in her life and getting to know Him personally.

Of course, worship is the logical heart felt response to meeting with our Heavenly Father. We revel in who He is, and celebrate the changes He brings to our lives. Worship, for Pony, pours out in her music and life…a life exhibiting a peaceful sensitivity to God, His Word, and others. Due to her humanness, she depends heavily on God’s grace to grease her choices and daily life. Yet, she looks forward to each new day and the stories that will follow, perhaps it will be your story! Pony says she really anticipates “testimony night” in eternity!

Her 1^st CD: the "Calling My Name" story!

 Pony’s first CD, “Calling My Name”, took shape with her good friend and former worship minister Mike Mariucci.  “Calling My Name”, was recorded at the Gaither studios in the year 2000. Her 3 favorite songs are “JUMP INTO THE WATER”, “CHANGE THE WORLD”, and “RAINMAKER”.

**Jump…is the spiritual analogy of taking a leap of faith into the water which then follows the path and leading of the Holy Spirit. It’s about maturing in Christ and a depth of life that is the goal of every Christian.

**Change…is a response to a national news story that occurred just 20 minutes from our home when a 6 year old boy tragically shot and killed a girl in his 1^st grade class. It’s a prayer/plea for what a life can be when it is altered by God’s touch. The song includes a moving children’s chorus.

**Rainmaker…is a fun rhythmic song about our human necessity to require God’s refreshing in our lives.

The 2nd CD: the “OPEN A DOOR” story!

 Pony had been praying for an opportunity to continue growing as a songwriter and through God’ providence, was able to go to Nashville to write and work with highly regarded Christian songwriter Leonard Ahlstrom. (Leonard has a collection of #1 hits in Christian music and may be best known for his work while with the group NEWSONG, on “Christmas Shoes”)

This CD, “OPEN A DOOR” truly reflects Pony’s heart on a number of issues including Family, Worship, and Christian maturity. It was fully released in 2005.

**”WEIGHT OF YOUR GLORY”, a worship song, has received regular rotation airplay on Family Life Radio station WUGN, and lyrically is one of Pony’s favorites.

**”ONE DAY” was inspired by several family friends who have adopted children from the former Soviet Union and faithfully transitioned them into a loving family. This song led Pony to partner with Kingdom Kids Adoption Ministry, and a portion of each CD sold goes to support this fine ministry.

**”I WANNA BE THAT GIRL” is Pony’s first recording with her 2 older daughters and reflects a young girl’s heart to want to live a Godly life.

**SOFTEN MY HEART” is a song from Pony’s current worship pastor, Kirk Lauckner, that captures Pony’s personal heart cry and is great for moments of reflection and preparation.

**”OPEN A DOOR”, the title cut, is inspired by friend and author/evangelist David Morel’s book on Biblical evangelism…a plea for God to give us opportunities to show how great He is.
